Creating your OnlyFans Headline

Creating a headline on your onlyfans may not seem like a big thing for most, but it is actually one of the first things people see when deciding to subscribe to you or not. One big thing creators overlook is what I call “Above the Fold”. This is the set of words that a user sees before the rest of the sentence is no longer visible and the user must click the read more button. Much like a newspaper (remember those!) at a news stand, when someone glances at the paperand all the eye catching headlines are above that newspaper fold. That’s what we want to emulate here, the eye catch headline before the text goes beyond that fold.

To show you what it looks like when people see it, I have three platforms to test this out. The Samsung S21 Ultra, 2021 Ipad (non MChip), and my Desktop running at 1920 x 1200. Now that you know the platforms, lets get to the testing.

My first test is setting the characters to Ws. W is usually the letter that takes up the most space in the English alphabet, so this puts kind of a stress test on the character limit. As you can tell in the above picture, the S21 and the desktop show 26 characters and 39 characters respectively. The iPad actually shows the most characters out of them at 42.5. Why .5? Well if you look at the picture, you can tell that it will actually cut off a character. The S21 and Desktop will simply do the ellipsis (…) showing that there is more to read. But to be on the safe side with the iPad, lets just go with 42 as the character limit.

Now with my Ws test out of the way, lets look at my actual headline or description. As you can see, the iPad still comes out on top with the most visible characters to the reader at 84. The S21 Ultra has 51 visible characters to the reader. Then there’s the desktop at 77. As you can tell that character limit nearly doubles in all examples.

So when creating your description headline, I would start at the minimum of 26 characters because of my Ws test, then use your phone’s screen to see how much more wiggle room you have to extend it.

If you got what you want to say within the limit, then I would say to just start a new line and continue writing the description in more detail. I also understand that some enjoy putting emojis into their description and If you have the extra space, go for it! But if you don’t, save those for the next line or don’t use them at all.

Remember, the general idea is to convey what type of content you post at a “First Glance” for new guests. Keep it simple for them to understand. And remember, I’m talking about OnlyFans in this post, but this can be carried over to any form of social media or fan sites.
