Hey, guys. Welcome back to AVN 2023. And right now, joining me is...

Sophia
Sophia Locke. That was a little awkward! I’ll answer for you. I got it. I know. I know my stage name.

Jay
Sophia, how’s you AVN going? This first time back. It's great.

Sophia
It's been probably six years for me. I think, since I've done any sort of. That’s Right, Huh? Wow. So I was a little bit intimidated by it. There's so many new people. I've only been back for about a year and it's just been incredible.

Jay
I'm exhausted but it’s great! Coming back, how welcoming were people when you came back?

Sophia
Shockingly welcoming. I wasn't expecting anyone to remember me. I thought maybe I'd be too old for the industry now. But it's it's MILF time. it really is. I guess we everyone's stepmom.

Jay
Came here at the right time.

Sophia
I definitely did.

Jay
People coming in with their OnlyFans and stuff like that. You saw the transition of that whole kind of industry from one end to the other. Now, what's one thing that has changed that kind of like surprised you so far?

Sophia
So I would say when I was out of the industry, that's when OnlyFans got big. And so I wasn't kind of in the middle of it when it happened. What surprised me was how many people outside of the adult industry in real estate and, you know, just kind of in your normal life would talk about adult work now.

Sophia
And so I think it really helped with the stigma, which is something I was always really hopeful for when I was in before.

Jay
And that's one thing I've noticed things about people . . . it’s easier. It's more accepting nowadays.

Sophia
It's like, it's just so wonderful. I think that's such a plus of OnlyFans and people just be more accepting of it.

Jay
What's one thing you would let people know to kind of be aware of before they do step into this whole world of the adult industry and content?

Sophia
I think that's a great question because there is still a stigma, this content. I mean, it lasts forever on the Internet. So and it does still affect future jobs. And so I'm glad I started in the adult industry when I was 25. I think especially when it comes to professional porn, it would have been weird to have this kind of sexual journey and learning myself at 18. I think that's something where I would caution people, especially on the professional side, to maybe wait a little bit know yourself more sexually before you go into professional porn.

Jay
That's a good point because a lot of people who do come in at 18, they don't know exactly what they're doing in just this world, but they also what they want to do later on in life. So like I said, this does carry on with you.

Sophia
It does.

Jay
You went into real estate and you just briefly said and what did that affect you in your work? Like you knew your work was out there. Were you afraid that people would find out or anything like that?

Sophia
I was pretty scared, honestly. And I got dox’d pretty hard about six months after I retired, anyway. So I had I had people from my brokerage emailing me saying that they had strangers on the Internet, sending them pictures of me with my work. So luckily, as an independent contractor in real estate, my brokerage was okay with it. They just felt bad for me, so I was nervous about it.

Sophia
It happened anyway. I guess it wasn't a big deal when it when it all comes down to it.

Jay
So thankfully, how to a good workplace where they were okay to a certain degree but like yeah.

Sophia
Sure I don't I think it made them a little uncomfortable. I was surprised at how kind of religious that group was in Washington State, the kind of real estate group. So I couldn't ever fully be myself. But the people that did find out were respectful and kind of quiet about it for me.

Jay
That's good. That's good to know because people don't know or think about that after like how does it actually affect you when you're like out of the workforce? So I think that's basically what I had.

Sophia
Oh, my gosh, fantastic.
